I’m finally writing this last update from the trip, more than a week after getting home. There were no more complications; I simply didn’t have time to write.

It had been several years since I last drove through Jasper National Park. In 2024, a major wildfire swept through the area, burning part of the town and large stretches of forest. During my previous visit in 2018, there were already many dead trees in the surrounding area, probably killed by bark beetles. Wildfires are unfortunately part of life in these forests, but sometimes they get out of control. I came across several other places scarred by fire during this trip.

I then continued through Radium Hot Springs and explored another part of the mountains I hadn’t seen before. I also came across the site of Wild Horse, a former gold rush town. The surrounding area is well worth a visit too.

From there, I headed south along the border to Grasslands National Park in Saskatchewan. Having the van and Starlink meant I could explore the park more thoroughly. There are plenty of beautiful roads winding across the prairies. Grasslands was one of my planned stops, but after that I had to pick up the pace to catch my flight home. I’ll add an overall recap of the trip later. First, I need to tally everything up and edit the videos, which I’ll then post here on the blog.
