In the end, I stayed in Montreal at my friend’s place until Wednesday. On Sunday, while changing the rear tire, I badly damaged the inner tube during installation, so I had to find a new one, which I only got on Wednesday. Thanks to that, I had more time to explore a few more places with my friend and had a great setup for work at their place. That means fewer photos this time, especially since I didn’t go to the city center at all.

On Thursday, I moved to Ottawa for two days, where I met another friend and found very interesting accommodation in a former prison. I had my own cell 😊 and joined a tour on Friday morning. Just before reaching Ottawa, my speedometer stopped working, so on Friday I tried to find out if it could be fixed, but they didn’t have anything in stock. I contacted the previous owner, and through Suzuki DR650 owner groups, he managed to find someone basically along my route who had everything that might be needed. So, I stopped by his place Saturday morning, and we found that the cable was broken near the hub, so we replaced it and everything was working again.

On Sunday morning, I got lucky—when I was leaving the place where I had stayed overnight, a wolf ran across the road and watched me from the forest for a moment. I saw my first wild wolf, and later that afternoon, not far from the highway, I also saw a black bear. I’m now in Marathon by Lake Superior. I checked into a motel here because it started raining around 2 PM and continued until about 8, and I didn’t want to search for a spot in the wet conditions.
